A very Exciting Moment!
Starting Your Own Passport Girls Chapter

When you’re ready to start your chapter, follow these steps:

Click Chapter in the top navigation bar.

Under Chapters, select Create Chapter.

Fill in the request completely and click Request Chapter Creation.

If you already have a Chapter Name and number but want to change it you can do so by following the same steps.

You can only change one time.

A member of our Headquarters staff will contact you once your request is received.
Tip: Your chapter name can reflect your location, your group’s personalities, or your shared interests, have fun and get creative!
You Chapter may also be two initial State dash 3 initial city or county and a 3 digit number. eg. CA-SOL-004

Your First Get-Together
The goal of your first get-together is to officially kick off your chapter and meet your squad. Those who are a lot like you, girly and who want to join the adventure. Use this event to:

Introduce yourself as the Chapters Squad Leader.

Share the mission and spirit of Passport Girls.

Take time to hear what your squad hope to get from the experience.
Making your chapter the BEST
Schedule field trips, guest speakers who will bring value to your troop/squad

Guest speakers should be people your troop/squad should aspire and look up to
-
Field trips should be both fun and educational. Be sure there is always someone from the field trip to act as a speaker at some point during the outing.

Make each meeting memorable and fun.

All Guest Speakers, field trip excursions should end with a discussion of the careers all careers in the vein of your guest speaker or outing.
Your Role as Chapter Leader
The woman who starts the chapter is the Squad or Troop Leader as long as the chapter is in good standing or until she decides to step down (chapter leadership changes are handled by PGCA Headquarters. As Leader, you are the chapter’s main leader and administrator. Your responsibilities include:

Managing Chapter Records: Use the PGCA website to keep member information up-to-date and manage chapter communication.

Organizing Events: You may post multi-chapter events on the PGCA Online Event Calendar.

Appointing Assistants: You may appoint an Assistant Leader (or two!) to help manage the chapter.

Responding to Messages: Members may reach out through the PGCA website to join your chapter, invite you to events, or just get to know you. Respond promptly, email, call, meet in person, or invite them to your next event. Share the personality of your chapter, including meeting times and any special activities, to help decide together if it’s a good fit.

Inviting New Members: Encourage girls/women you meet to come visit and experience Passport Girls firsthand.
